Summary
With the popularity of short video clips showing the “real” ADHD, it has easily become one of the top social media crazes. The downstream effect is an influx of ADHD referrals seen within primary care. This brief presentation will go over the different ways that various organizations have approached diagnosis and management of ADHD in adults. It is curious to think about what specific aspects of each approach would provide an ideal approach to ADHD patients in an integrated behavioral health setting. Target audience is for anyone with an interest in learning and figuring out ways to solve this big dilemma of what to do with these adults that may or may not have ADHD. All disciplines are welcome. 2-3 minutes: Introduction 11 minutes: Highlight various approaches to ADHD by different organizations 6-7 minutes: One possible ideal approach to management of ADHD in integrated behavioral health care 10 minutes: Discussion/Q & A
Objectives
- Be aware of the most common ways to approach ADHD diagnosis and management
- Consider what specific aspects of these various approaches may be most pertinent to your current practice
- Start to implement and utilize some of the tools i.e. templates in integrated behavioral health care
