Summary
Suicide continues to be a major public health concern. It is well known that many individuals at risk for suicide present in primary care, multiple times, during their month of death. Integrated care settings can play a critical role in prevention by understanding best practices for suicide safer care and adopting a systemic approach to suicide prevention. This workshop will provide basic best practices for identifying and caring ofr patients at risk for suicide by all members of the care team in an integrated care setting.
Objectives
- Understand the importance of adopting suicide safer care and the prevelence of suicide in populations
- Be able to implement best practices for the management of a population at risk for suicide in an integrated care setting
- Have an understanding of risk assessment and planning for patients at risk for suicide
