Summary
Training faculty from the Mid-America Mental Health Technology Transfer Center (MHTTC) will help you navigate implementation of pediatric integrated primary care (IPC). Presenters will utilize didactic instruction to introduce training and technical assistance available in pediatric IPC through MHTTC. The didactic portion will also cover both practice and business models in IPC as well as practical steps to consider when establishing an integrated care practice in rural and urban areas. Strategies to introduce IPC to an organization, practice, and/or primary care provider in rural and underserved communities. Presenters will describe successful strategies and lessons learned when establishing a pediatric integrated primary care clinics. Hands-on exercises will assist attendees to begin mapping a pathway toward implementation of a pediatric integrated primary care practice utilizing the `Steps Toward Implementation’ IPC rubric. Resources including a comprehensive integrated care manual developed through the MHTTC will be introduced, discussed and provided to attendees as an in-depth guide to IPC implementation. This session will include dissemination of information and resources for a variety of professionals with range of background and knowledge in pediatric integrated care. The presentation team will include those who have successfully implemented pediatric integrated primary care and currently practice in these settings.
Objectives
- Describe resources and technical assistance available through the Integrated Care Program at the Mid-America Mental Health Technology Transfer.
- Discuss an integrated primary care manual describing aspects of implementation and considerations when implementing pediatric integrated care.
- Describe the process for establishing a pediatric integrated primary care clinic, including steps, identifying champions and tools for implementation.
