Our 2022 conference has something for everyone. Take a look at the extra opportunities to engage with other colleagues at the conference. You are not going to want to miss it – register here!
The Poetry and Prose session validates creative expression among the CFHA membership, encourages emotional reflection on the themes of healing and the life cycle, and creates intimacy and safety among colleagues. Facilitators promote constructive group discussions about the emotional responses generated by stories that are shared, giving presenters gentle feedback from a relatively diverse audience. We encourage authors to consider publishing their work in the Family Systems and Health, Sharing Our Stories (SOS) section.
Any interested CFHA conference attendee is invited to bring poems, short stories, or essays of a medical nature to the session. Readers first provide background on the situation that prompted the writing of the piece. The piece is then read. After a moment of reflection, audience members share with the reader their personal emotional responses to the piece. Many attendees are there to listen only. Facilitators and attendees share tips for writing and publishing.
Presenters are invited to have their narrative piece read, either by themselves or by someone designated by them who is attending the conference.
The poster session allow authors to visually present their best ideas and/or latest research and evaluation findings in a way that facilitates dialogue and networking among colleagues.
During the poster session, there will be light hors d oeuvres and a cash bar.

Lunch-time discussion groups provide an opportunity for attendees to gather and share conversations about topics related to their interests and work. Discussion group facilitators will be at each table to help the group engage discussion on assigned topics and foster lively conversation among guests.
