This presentation will include planning details and real life experiences for providing integrated telehealth therapy services with a live demo! My recent year working at the University of Utah in the Cardiovascular and Neurology clinics with an integrated telehealth service has been able to increase access, revenue and a rich patient treatment experiences that I will share with the goal of providing a working template and checklist for other interested clinicians to take back to their practice and begin another wing of services. Recent studies have shown that the majority of patients with mental health diagnoses are not utilizing psychotherapy services. In this presentation, we attempt to address one of the more commonly known barriers to treatment, distance to care. Depression and anxiety are the leading cause of disability in the world. Despite the prevalence, a small proportion of individuals seek mental health services. A cost-effective method for increasing access to mental health services is the implementation of tele-mental-health programs. This presentation aims to summarize the state of the field on the efficacy and effectiveness of videoconferencing psychotherapy for the treatment of mental health symptoms. I’ve also had the opportunity to provide SBIRT care to rural areas in Utah with positive results working with other agencies and collaborating in care. I have also been able to demonstrate a decrease in provider burnout due to ability to provide care from home at times as well as with the increase of COVID-19 and the ability to continue to provide care. I look forward in sharing materials, experiences and answering questions in hopes that this can be another way in which the collaborative family care can utilize technology and clinical expertise to help move our field into the future.
